Local Elders whip the Congregation into a frenzy about donating to the Organization
by James Jack inbecause of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.

You all are too critical of the GB and the brotherhoodedness! They are just following the example of Jesus Christ who must have said somewhere, "The expenses of the organization are projected to exceed the current income, so I need you all to dig deeper and give me more money to help spread the Good News of the Kingdom (and buy pinky rings, new suits, and fancy watches for me)." -

Guess I said more than I should have about "the truth"
by paradisebeauty ina sister came by my house today.
not to see how i was or why i have not been to meetings for the past months - she needed to borrow some money for the upcoming convention.
we chatted a little, and i cound not keep my mouth shut about some questions i have and some discoveries i made about the doctrine.

This sister is "relying on Jehovah". You know, just like the GB is relying on Jehovah by begging for more money from the R & F.
It's becoming a religion that begs for money, yet condemns education and gainful employment that really earns money.

But I have the feeling she will talk to one of them...
So if the elduhs come asking questions, you can say, "hmmm, Sister Whackadoodle came by trying to borrow money and when I said I wasn't comfortable lending, she got furious and made a bunch of threats about how she could make a lot of trouble for me. I guess she figured out how to use you to do her dirty work. Did you happen to loan her the money she wants?"

Back in the Basement
by LostGeneration inlooks like the faithful jws are back in the basement, the oct 15th wt has this image on page 9. but now the lights have been turned out!
i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.
only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

An experience of just how screwed over Wt has got them.
by joe134cd inalthough i find this unsurprising, i think it worth mentioning as it demonstrates a point.
i know a brother in chile, and i wanted confirmation on the flag flying outside the kh in that country.
he said he was unaware of it.

Of course, this would mean that Anita Bryant was actually promoting homosexuality.
Her homophobia was all a smokescreen:
Here she is, seducing two children with gay oranges!

John 21:23 a new argument for JW's regarding false prophecy promoted being OK
by ILoveTTATT2 ini want as many minds put into this as possible.. there is a new argument among the extreme jw apologists, saying that even the disciples promoted mistakes.
they base themselves on john 21:23. keep in mind, i am not a believer but i want the answer from a believer's standpoint, please.. .

Good points listed already. Here's a couple of points I've used:
- (Let's say I still think the bible is relevant.) The Bible contains many cautionary tales of the errors that MEN have made. Here the disciples jumped to a wrong conclusion. In 2 Kings 22:20, a "true prophet" told Josiah that he would be gathered to his "own graveyard in peace". But he didn't die in peace, he died in a war with Egypt. Another example that comes quickly to mind is the lying prophet from Bethel. So are we to conclude when someone claims to predict the future? They will be wrong. And from some of these examples, following these people can kill us.
- (More accurately, since I don't think the bible is relevant.) Oh, so you're saying that Jesus inspired false prophecy among his disciples? Is this your plan to build my confidence in the bible by pointing out how it is chock full of errors? And that I should have confidence in the false prophecies of WT because the bible also has false prophecies?

Oranges make you gay? Utter nonsense!
We all know that it's bananas that make you gay, at least I think that's what these two dudes were trying to explain.

Their pitiful behavior is happifying to the cult leaders and their Bronze Age make-believe god.
I'm assuming that my parents wouldn't attend my wedding since I won't be marrying a "sister".
